Actions of selling power slightly underperformed Zacks’ computer software industry over the cumulative period (+ 31.5% vs. + 35.6%), however, the company continues to benefit from a robust demand environment as customers are undergoing a major digital transformation. The Zacks analyst believes that the diversity of cloud offerings, customer strength, strategic acquisitions and partnerships are the main drivers of the company’s growth.

The recent acquisition of Slack is likely to position the company as a leader in the space of enterprise team collaboration solutions. However, it faces stiff competition from Microsoft Corp. and Oracle in the cloud-based CRM market. Adverse currency fluctuations along with growing investments in international expansions and data continue to weigh on near-term profitability.

AT&T stocks have gained + 0.1% over the past year versus a loss of -0.3% for the Zacks Wireless domestic industry. The Zacks analyst believes the company saw early momentum in its core market areas, thanks to the strength of 5G, fiber and HBO Max subscribers.

With a customer-centric business model, AT&T is experiencing healthy momentum in its postpaid wireless business with a lower churn rate and increased adoption of higher tier unlimited plans. However, it reported mixed results in the third quarter of 2021, as good wireless traction was partially offset by a lower contribution from the divested businesses. The company is also grappling with a decline in its traditional wireline and Internet telephony services.

Actions of Boeing gained + 19.2% in the last six months against the Zacks Aerospace & Defense industry gain of + 11.3%. Risks related to supply chain shortages due to the ongoing pandemic as well as lower deliveries compared to Airbus weighed on its margins.

The Zacks analyst, however, believes that the long-term outlook for the global service unit and the increased budget for tax defense should boost Boeing’s growth. The company’s business activity rebounded significantly in the second quarter. The outlook for the aerospace giant’s defense activity remains optimistic.
